Caval Ridge Highway Crossings

Project Timing:  2013 – 2020

Project Value:   Ongoing

Client details:   BHP (Caval Ridge Mine)

Since 2013, CPH have carried out the earthworks to allow Caval Ridge Mine to cross the Peak Downs Highway with 3,000T-plus electric draglines and 1,400T electric rope-shovels.

To protect the road from the immense weight of these machines as they cross, CPH construct an earth-ramp across the highway 1.5m high and 30m wide. The works are carried out under very tight timeframes, with detours and traffic management in place, to minimise the traffic impact on this very busy highway.
